Phoenix Building Products was founded in 2009 by Duncan Cunningham, one of the UK’s leading experts in special shaped bricks and pre-fabricated brickwork.
Duncan was soon joined by Mark Higgs who has nearly 30 years’ experience in this specialist field. Since then the company has gone from strength to strength and now employs around 30 people at a purpose-built factory at Sheffield Park in the East Sussex countryside. Phoenix offer a wide range of products and services, including brick cutting, special shaped bricks and pre-fabricated brick arches and lintels, all backed up by our Technical and Operations teams. Duncan Cunningham
Managing Director

In a career spanning 30 years Duncan has been involved in many sectors of manufacture and supply including, steel lintels, specialised aggregates, special shape bricks and precast concrete. The founder of Kevington Building Products Ltd and Managing Director for 23 years Duncan sold the Kevington business to Ibstock. After a period of time he decided to start a new, more personal business and started Phoenix Building Products. After 8 years continual growth, Phoenix has risen to be a well respected supplier of specialist brick centred products that are becoming ever more popular with Architects, designers, construction companies and building professionals. With the drive and determination that is obviously apparent, who knows where the Phoenix will rise to next.

Mark Higgs
Sales Director

Mark has over 20 years experience in bricks arches and special shapes. Spending the first 16 years with a highly specialist brick and arch manufacturer, Mark’s knowledge on Red Rubbers and gauged brickwork is second to none. Prior to joining Phoenix Mark was technical sales manager for a leading precast brick component manufacturer. Steve Clarke
Operations Manager

Steve is a pro-active team member and brings his considerable wealth of experience to bear when it comes to getting things made and delivered. His main role in the business is to ensure that all orders are processed and delivered in a timely manner. Dan Hickey
Technical CAD Manager

Dan has developed real skill in all things technical. His grasp of how things are made and how to make that understandable to our customers is a rare attribute. Dan is responsible for turning your aspirations in to reality as he creates our workshop CAD drawings from the description of your requirements. His primary role is to understand what you need and turn that in to a useable product that will stand the test of time. Alice Murray
CAD Technician

Alice joined the team in 2017 and is making a real contribution to the technical team. She has already proven her worth as she produces high quality CAD drawings for production. She is helping Dan to ensure that we give the best level of technical support that we can. Lynne Brough
Office & Admin Manager

Lynne Brough joined us in July 2012 and brings order to the daily running of the office. Lynne’s background is ‘hospitality’ which is very useful when dealing with our customers as they are such a varied bunch! Her organisational skills have also assisted in steamlining our order management and internal business processes. She also looks after training, recruitment, invoicing and purchasing. Joe joined the team from a brick manufacturer in 2017. He has spent a lifetime in bricks and what he doesn't know about bricks and brick specials isn't really worth knowing.

Simon Tibble
Territory Sales

Simon also joined the team in 2017 having spent too much time making cast stone of one sort or another. Although spending some of his time promoting Phoenix's special brick products, his primary focus is on Candiwall. Based in Yorkshire he looks after a wide geography and helps out wherever he can helping on sites or architect's offices.
